Context Setting Workshops:

29th May, 2008: Creative Industries

This workshop was an initial exploration of the research questions that are beginning to emerge from the Creative Industries, and the way they are being re-shaped by Social Technology Systems. The workshop brought together a wide range of experts and stakeholders, and generated a rich discussion.

Here is the Agenda for the day.

Notes taken by rapporteurs on the discussions are available here:

24th June, 2008: Transport

The aim of this workshop is to develop a better shared understanding of how transport could be transformed by Social Technology Systems (STS) such as Liftshare, Journeyplan, ClimateFeedback, car clubs, and initiatives like SoonR, Google's G drive and Microsoft's skydrive, as well as new service models (such as pay-as-you-go insurance or congestion charging).

Here is the Agenda for the day.

4th July, 2008: Health

Technology and society: Is the outbreak of cancer videos, bulimia blogs and other forms of “user generated” medical information a healthy trend?’. This question headlined an article in the Technology Quarterly of The Economist (Sep 6, 2007) and is just one of the questions that the Context Setting Health Workshop aims to address.
